Icarus

Art Atelier, Manchester

Sculpture: bubble wrap, wire and tape, with rope

4m x 4m x 4m

In the sculpture work Icarus everything that is sturdy, solid and steadying in photographic technology is merged with all that is bulbous, wobbly and messy about the human body. Playing with the notion of cybernetics and the information feedback loop between the human body and the technological landscape, the sturdy tripod is rendered defunct as it absorbs human attributes.
